In the year 2100, as the temperature of the « burning world » reaches an unbearable new height, Dominique, Karima, Martine, Pascale and Auriane find themselves exasperated by the environment and the deeply rooted capitalist and patriarchal society. Bound by a strong friendship, they reach the radical decision: to abandon their lives and establish themselves in total self-sufficiency, with the intention of aging together in a cave deep beneath the cobblestones of Noisy-Le-Sec. In this underground refuge, they form Les Papelardes, an alternative community with its own codes, languages and everyday artefacts. Together, they explore the depths of their commitment.
